⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came for a team-building event with our 12-person company. The G23 is a different league of quality compared to anything we tried before. The instructor is professional and patient — everyone got up on the board. We will be back.

We went for a bachelor party and it was the highlight of the whole day. The wave really is huge — they are not joking. The drinks-package option is awesome and the photos turned out professional too.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is wakesurf?

Wakesurf is a unique water sport where you ride a wave generated by a specially designed motorboat. The key to the perfect wave is the boat's ballast system — water-fillable ballast tanks and ballast bags add extra weight, so the boat sits deeper and produces a bigger, longer, more stable wave. With ballast loaded, the draft can grow by 15–25 cm and the total weight can approach 5.5–7 tonnes, depending on the model. Both the ATX Type S 22 and the Super Air Nautique G23 are designed to build an ideal wakesurf wave. The best wave typically forms around 16.5–17.5 km/h.

Do I need experience for wakesurf? Do I have to know how to swim?

No prior experience needed — wakesurf is one of the most beginner-friendly water sports. You learn the basics on a stable, well-shaped wave. We help you from your very first attempt and most beginners reach their first independent rides within 15–25 minutes. Basic swimming skills are required, but we provide a life jacket for everyone, so the program is safe. On a private booking you get individual attention; in the Surf Club, more experienced members also help out.

What is the minimum age for wakesurf?

We recommend wakesurf from age 8 and wakeboard from age 12. SUP is available from age 8 on the boat. Younger kids can join family cruises with a parent.

How many people can come on the boat?

For private programs and boat cruises the maximum group size is 10 people + skipper. The exact figure depends on the boat type and the rules of authorities. Wakesurf programs can include companions too — on a private booking, an entire group of friends or a family can join. For larger groups we can run the program with multiple boats.

What is the minimum booking time and how do you measure time?

For private wakesurf, motorboat charter and boat cruises the minimum is 1 hour. Time is measured from leaving the marina to returning to it. After the first hour we continue with per-minute billing. The Surf Club system works differently: only the rider time counts — the clock starts when the rider goes onto the water and stops when they return to the boat platform. It is worth arriving on time so you spend as much of the booked time on the water as possible.

What is the Surf Club?

The Surf Club is our discounted, per-minute system designed for regular practice and a community vibe. It is for those who want recurring wakesurf sessions, not just a one-off experience. The Surf Club runs exclusively on the ATX Type S 22 boat. The boat goes out with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 people, so everyone gets enough time on the wave. The system primarily serves approved members — a sporty, supportive community.

Can I book a sightseeing or sunset cruise?

Yes, of course. Beside wakesurf, sightseeing cruises, sunset cruises, motorboat charter and longer cruises are available in Budapest and on the surrounding sections of the Danube. The trip can be an elegant Budapest panorama, a romantic sunset ride, or a full-day tour towards Szentendre, Visegrád or Esztergom. They are also great for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, couple experiences or corporate team-building. With a larger group both boats can run together.

How much does it cost and does the price depend on the number of guests?

Our rates: Super Air Nautique G23 — 150,000 HUF / hour, ATX Type S 22 — 120,000 HUF / hour. Minimum booking is 1 hour, after which we bill per minute. Time is measured from leaving the marina to returning to it. The price does NOT depend on the number of guests — the same hourly rate applies whether you come alone or with a small group. So the more of you there are, the lower the cost per person. The Surf Club system works separately (minimum 2 people, per-minute billing). Our prices are calculated at a fuel price of 600 HUF/L — in case of a significant increase we reserve the right to adjust the price.

What discounts are available?

Several discounts are available: (1) Weekdays Monday to Friday until 12:00 — 10% off. (2) Multi-hour bookings — additional discounts. (3) Booking both boats together — 10% off. (4) Surf Club members — permanent discount. (5) Club discounts and coupon discounts can be redeemed. Discounts can be combined — at booking you automatically get the best offer.

What payment options do you offer?

Bank transfer, Stripe (credit card), Revolut, Wise, cash and in some cases cryptocurrency. We agree on the details at booking.

Do you provide gear? What should I wear?

For sport programs we provide a life jacket and the necessary basic gear. The board park has several wakesurf models — Surf and Skim style boards. The ATX boat also offers foiling, depending on the gear available and the program. In cooler weather a wetsuit can be requested for private bookings while stocks last. For yourself: swimsuit + neoprene shorts or bermuda. In cooler weather a neoprene top is also welcome. We do NOT provide a cap, please bring one! You may bring your own gear, but please flag it in advance.

What is the speed?

For wakesurf the best wave forms around 16–17 km/h, for wakeboard the typical pace is 31–33 km/h. With the Super Air Nautique G23 NSS™ system and the ATX Type S 22 ballast system the wave can be tuned precisely — from beginner to pro level.

Where is the meeting point?

We have two locations. (1) Wiking Yacht Club Marina cove — 1138 Budapest, Kelén u. (the Super Air Nautique G23 starts from here). (2) Budapest Yacht Club / BP BARbq Terrace — 1039 Budapest, Kossuth Lajos üdülőpart 115 (the ATX Type S 22 starts from here). Parking is available at both locations. We confirm the exact meeting point at booking.

Does wakesurf run in the rain?

Light rain is no problem — we hold the program as planned. In case of lightning, strong wind or high water we re-book your slot free of charge. Safety always comes first.

When is the season?

Depending on the weather, we welcome guests from early-to-mid April until mid-to-late October. The peak season runs from mid-April to mid-October. The warmest and most reliable period is between June and August.

Are there any safety rules?

Yes, safety is non-negotiable. Following the captain's instructions on board is mandatory at all times — particularly because of the ballast system, the increased load and the deeper draft. You may only stay in the water in a properly fitted life jacket. During wakesurf, foiling and other sports the life jacket is mandatory. The goal: an exciting, professional and safe program for every guest.
