Timing – when does the sun set?
The time of sunset changes by season: around 8 p.m. in summer, earlier in spring and autumn. At booking we give you the exact departure time so you are sure to be on the water when the sun goes down. It is worth booking ahead, as sunset slots are the most popular all season – especially on weekends and in the summer months.
Sunset or evening lights?
If you want to see not only the sunset but the fully illuminated city, set off for the setting sun and stay until dark. That way you experience the golden hour, and then, as the lights of the Chain Bridge and Parliament come on, the evening, night-time Budapest too – two experiences on a single boat trip.
