Wakefoil — the magic of floating above water
Wakefoil is the latest, most exclusive watersport — a board with a hydrofoil (an underwater fin like an aircraft wing) attached below it. At a certain speed the foil generates upward lift, and the board literally rises ABOVE the water surface — you ride centimeters in the air. The experience is almost magic, and the silence is uncanny because the board no longer touches the water.

How does the foil work?
A hydrofoil is essentially an underwater aircraft wing. As the board moves forward, water flows around the foil, generating lift just like an airplane wing in air. Above approximately 10-15 km/h, the lift is strong enough to raise the entire board out of the water — only the foil’s mast remains submerged. The result: zero resistance, silent gliding, and the closest experience humans can get to flying.
For whom is wakefoil?
Wakefoil is recommended only for advanced riders who already know wakeboard or wakesurf well. The reason: balancing on a foil is significantly harder than on the water surface, because the board pivots in 3 dimensions (roll, pitch, yaw). Falls happen suddenly and unpredictably. Beginners should start with at least 5-10 sessions of wakesurf first.
What you can learn at wakefoil
- Phase 1 (sessions 1-3): learning to feel the lift, controlling the height, basic balance
- Phase 2 (sessions 4-10): turning while on foil, cruising at constant height
- Phase 3 (10+): rope-free wakefoil — let go of the rope and ride the wave just like wakesurf, only floating above water
Why is it so special?
Wakefoil is the cutting edge of watersports — only a handful of clubs in Hungary offer it, and only on premium boats. The Super Air Nautique G23 is ideal because the long, clean wave allows for sustained foil rides. The sensation is unlike anything else: silent, weightless, almost dreamlike.
Equipment
The hourly rate includes the wakefoil board and foil setup. Wakefoil equipment is more delicate than standard boards — please listen to the instructor’s safety briefing carefully. Falls onto the foil itself can cause cuts, so we provide a foil-impact vest (optional but recommended).
